“Like” Haydon Art Center
The Haydon Art Center is hosting a triathlon, but not the kind you would probably expect. In conjunction with the 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games to be hosted in Lincoln July 19th through July 23rd the Haydon Art Center is organizing an Art Triathlon.
“We felt this was an opportunity to bring people together and create some beautiful projects,” said Heather Thomas, Education Coordinator for Haydon Art Center.
The event is for athletes, their families, the community and visitors. Beginning at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20th three different locations will host participants. Haydon Art Center located at 335 N. 8th St., Lincoln Art Council 930 O St. and Sheldon Museum of Art on 12th and R St. The triathlon will conclude at 7 p.m.
The three different locations, each hosted by local artists, will have different projects. Print making and buttons are already on the to-do list. Participants will have an opportunity to work both indoors and outdoors filling up their “passport”, which can be picked up at any of the three locations and will help participants navigate to the different locations.
There is no cost to participate and everyone is welcome. The Art Triathlon will be one more excellent opportunity for visitors to explore the Downtown and discover Lincoln during the Special Olympics USA National Games.
