Another exciting year has passed and DLA is looking forward to celebrating Downtown Lincoln’s progress at our Annual Meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, October 21st at the Embassy Suites.

Each year, the Downtown Lincoln Association recognizes outstanding individuals and businesses through the presentation of our Downtown Impact Awards. This year, there will be six categories:

Downtown Champion:

Honors an individual who has shown leadership and vision in promoting a strong Downtown and building consensus for key projects and issues.

Downtown Young Entrepreneur:

This award honors an under-40 entrepreneur who is growing a business Downtown.

Downtown Business Leadership Award:

Recognizes a business or organization that has shown exemplary community support for Downtown.

Residential Development Award:

Recognizes a residential project, either single residence or multiple units, which adds to the variety and appeal of Downtown housing choices.

Significant Development Award: $1 million and above
Significant Development Award: Under $1 million:

These two awards recognize renovations, improvements or new developments that have added value to the property, enhanced the surrounding area, increased visibility and may be a catalyst for other investment.

We invite you to help us identify worthy candidates for these special awards by submitting your nominations by Thursday, September 10, 2009.
