90.3 KRNU and the Downtown Lincoln Association have recently partnered to promote the First Friday Artwalk in downtown Lincoln. Every month the community comes downtown to attend an evening of art, music, appetizers and conversation, showcasing several Lincoln art galleries and related businesses. The First Friday Artwalk starts at 5:00 PM on the First Friday of every month. The opening and closing times vary depending on the curator and the last session typically ends around 10:00 PM.
Starting with the July Artwalk, 90.3 KRNU will provide the music at two of the galleries - The 815 (815 “O” Street in the old Box Awesome space) and Gallery 9 (124 South 9th).
KRNU, is a professionally managed FM radio station with studios in Andersen Hall (UNL’s College of Journalism Building). Students also produce television newscasts, which are distributed throughout Lincoln via cable television. The broadcasting program operates two television studios in Andersen Hall.
We feel this is an excellent opportunity to further expose UNL students to downtown’s eclectic mix of art & culture,” stated Todd Ogden, DLA Marketing Director.
