Downtown Matchups: Downtown Orlando vs. Downtown Lincoln

Weekend Events in DT Orlando

It’s one of the most dreaded days in Nebraska: the final Husker game of the season. On Monday, January 2nd at 12:00pm CT, the #20 Huskers will take the field for the last time this season against the #9 South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Huskers are coming off a 20-7 win against Iowa on November 25, the day after Thanksgiving. They’ve had over a month to prepare for a tough opponent in the well-rounded Gamecocks. They only lost two games this year, one against the defending national champions, the Auburn Tigers, in October and another against the now #6 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks in the first week of November.

Husker fans looking for something to do before and after the game can check out this downtown event calendar. Those who will be in Orlando for New Year’s might want to check out the The Fresh From Florida Parade that takes place on December 31 at 11:00 a.m in downtown Orlando. Read more about the event here

As we did the past few weeks with Fresno, Seattle, Laramie, Madison, Columbus, Minneapolis, East Lansing, Evanston, State College, Ann Arbor and Iowa City, we continue to look at the cities of our Husker competitors as well as Orlando where they’ll play on Monday to see how Lincoln sizes up. Below is a comparison of the city of Lincoln and Orlando and their respective downtowns.
