Downtown Matchup: Downtown East Lansing vs. Downtown Lincoln

Learn More About East Lansing

The 9th ranked Spartans of Michigan State are rolling into Lincoln this weekend fresh off a miracle, last play victory against the 6th ranked Wisconsin Badgers. The Spartans come into the match-up with the same record as the 14th ranked Huskers, 6-1; their only loss being to Notre Dame on September 17th.

The Spartans hail from East Lansing, Michigan, a city located in the heart of the state and an hour and a half northwest of Detroit. The city heavily revolves around Michigan State University, as enrollment is 47,800 and the city’s 2010 census had the city’s overall population at 48,600. A hot spot in the city is Grand River Avenue, a tree-lined stretch of road in downtown East Lansing (reminiscent of downtown Lincoln’s O Street) featuring a diverse assortment of bars, coffee shops and restaurants
