‘Mixology’ to Stir Up a Night of Fun

RSVP on Facebook

For the third year in a row, GOLincolnGO will host Mixology, an introductory class on how to create some of the most mouthwatering cocktails ever made. The event will take place Friday, January 21st from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. on the fifth floor of the Apothecary Building at 140 N. 8th Street.

Staci Hass, board member of GOLincolnGO, is looking forward to seeing young professionals, mixology novices, and martini lovers at the event.

“It’s kind of a fun, educational event. We bring in a Mixologist from Sterling Distribution, and he’ll teach you how to make four drinks and how to mix them, and then afterwards, you get to enjoy them.”

Hass said the event is a great networking opportunity to meet a lot of people from different parts of the community while also learning about the art of drink making.

“We get lots of different types of people who come,” Hass said. “[Mixology] shows you how to make drink making more of an art form.”

The annual event bolsters the idea that anyone can be a drink making connoisseur; all they need is a little practice. Guests can expect to learn a variety of techniques to help them make drinks, including how to use a shaker and the different pouring methods required to make a martini.

There will be a cash bar during the social hour from 5:30-6:30, and appetizers will be served then as well. The event is $40 a person. Registration for the event is open until Tuesday, January 18 by 5:00 p.m.  Mixology is sponsored by The Apothecary, Russ’s Market and Sterling Distribution.
