Downtown Lincoln’s newest law firm, Miller Grell Law Group PC, LLO, has been settling into their second-floor office just above Brewsky’s in the Haymarket for the past month. Owners Chris Miller and Mark Grell are ready to welcome new cases to their client-focused personal injury firm.  Both are graduates of the University of Nebraska College of Law and their litigation firm will specialize in workers’ compensation, insurance disputes, personal injury, products liability and business litigation.

Miller, a native of Ravenna, Nebraska, recently returned to Lincoln after practicing law in Kansas City for the past nine years. He moved to town with his wife and nine-month-old son to settle down, reconnect with old friends, and be closer to family. He says he hopes Miller Grell Law Group will provide the kind of quality service that can only be found in his home state.

“We want our clients to know that they can expect to receive personal attention from my partner, Grell, and myself. Lots of firms offer litigation services, but we want to develop quality relationships with our clients to be able to provide them with the best counsel possible.  Here, cases won’t be handed off to associates or paralegals.”

Miller started his legal career at Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Kansas City, Missouri representing product manufacturers. After two years, his focus changed when he left the large defense firm and began representing victims of dangerous products, fraud and neglect. For the next six years, Miller practiced at the nationally-recognized litigation firm of Humphrey, Farrington & McClain in Independence, Missouri where he worked extensively on the firm’s nation-wide products liability team. His first jury trial at the age of 30 resulted in a $1.2 million dollar verdict for an elderly slip and fall victim. Other individual accomplishments include a $1.9 million dollar settlement for the family of a boating accident and a $15 million dollar class-action settlement (co-counsel) on behalf of elderly victims of long-term care insurance fraud that resulted in Missouri’s seventh largest settlement in 2009.

Grell, a native of Wymore, Nebraska has practiced law in Lincoln since 2003 and is looking forward to staying involved in the community and continuing to serve clients from his new Haymarket location.

Grell began his legal career as an associate attorney at Brown & James in Kansas City, Missouri handling insurance defense cases. He too changed his legal focus when he joined Harris Law Offices in Lincoln, Nebraska in June 2003, where he focused on representing injured people in workers’ compensation and civil litigation. Since that time, he has worked diligently and effectively in advocating for those who have been injured through no fault of their own. Grell is well-known in the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court, and has helped hundreds of injured workers in seeing their claim to completion either through trial or lump-sum settlement. He has specialized knowledge of the unique situations over-the-road truck drivers face when injured on the job, and provides caring and compassionate counsel to those whose lives have been turned upside-down by a work injury. Grell also is actively involved in the local community, having served as membership chair and on the board of directors of Updowntowners/Go Lincoln Go, and has performed in theater shows at the Lincoln Community Playhouse.

When asked what they hope their new firm will accomplish in the coming years, both agreed that providing exceptional service to their clients was their main priority.
