SUSTAIN-A-BREW FACTS:

- Roughly 12.7 billion glass beer bottles are produced annually in the U.S. with another billion or so imported. Nearly 10 billion or these bottles end up in landfills.

- Ingredients for beer from a local brewery on average travel 600 miles before being consumed in comparison to over 24,000 miles from a multinational corporation.

- The simple choice of drinking a pint from draught instead of the bottle cuts the environment impact by a whopping 68 percent. - International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment

- One keg saves 165 12oz bottles with each use. Each keg is reused 1,000s of times.

- In the average keg’s 30 year lifespan, it will serve 27,000 draws of beer, saving the world 1,1125 cases of waste.

- Most kegs are made of stainless steel or aluminum with high recycling rates and are optimally shaped so the take less space, thus coolers can be smaller and use less energy.
