TADA Theatre to Host Regional Premiere of ‘It’s the Housewives!’

Check out TADA on Facebook

The TADA Theatre opens its spring season with the regional premiere of It’s the Housewives!, a musical tale of three young moms who perform at the P.T.A. talent show and go on to “clean up” as the most celebrated, yet unlikely girl group in rock n’ roll history. The show opens this Thursday, March 24, and will run for the next three weekends through April 17.

In attendance Thursday will be show creators Laurence Juber and his wife Hope. Laurence is a two-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist and was the lead guitarist for Paul McCartney’s band Wings. Hope is the daughter of Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of “The Brady Bunch” and “Gilligan’s Island.” The couple first teamed up with TADA a few years ago for Gilligan’s Island The Musical.

“We had such a great experience with [TADA’s Managing Artistic Director] Bob and all of the talented people involved with TADA. We can’t wait to work together again and see the creativity they bring to It’s the Housewives!” Laurence said.

The production is based on a book with the same name written by Hope and sitcom writer and producer Ellen Guylas, who will also be in attendance.  Guylas wrote for Three’s Company, The Bob Newhart ShowWho’s the Boss, and wrote and co-produced Full House.

Get ready for these divas of domesticity as critics are referring to the production as the “Female Spinal Tap!”

too hard at the lyrics and actually
take a listen to the songs
themselves, these are some
well-constructed tunes.”

-Music Connection

“It will strike a familiar chord with women everywhere.”
-Family Circle

“Songs like the brilliant ‘Reynolds
Rap’ and ‘Pledge or Behold’ boast more than jokey titles;
the lyrics follow through.”
