Breakfast in Downtown Lincoln

We live in a fascinating age of progress and scientific discovery. Technology offers us better and faster ways to communicate and share information with one another all across the planet. Yet with all its advancement, we believe nothing will provide a better channel for meeting our deepest needs of communication like the timeless practice of sharing simple food and drink. It is our desire to prepare everything we serve as simply and as skillfully as possible. We create all menu items in our open kitchen and bakery every day from scratch. We also use local ingredients whenever possible. We’ll set the table. You bring the conversation.

Kevin and Karen both felt the need for a change, but the only idea that kept coming back to them was the restaurant.  As the years passed, the idea stayed alive and instead of fading, became more persistent. It eventually came to the point where they could do nothing else but take it very seriously.  There were many points of influence and persuasion, but one of the strongest was the fear of regret for not trying.  Would it be better to try and fail than to never make the attempt at all?  It was a desire to live by the code, “I’m glad I did” instead of, “I wish I had” that served as the final impetus to take the risk. In May of 2005, Kevin and Karen, with the help from two college friends, started down the long road of planning, designing and opening a restaurant from scratch.  It would take 27 months before the doors were open to their first customers.  Nothing is born without struggle, and theirs included the search for the right location, dealing with bank rejections, construction delays, and mounting debts from no income.  The hard work eventually paid off and bread&cup opened on August 06, 2007. -Via Bread & Cup’s website

While it may sound like sports fan sacrilege for us to say, our chef-created menu makes Brewsky’s a great place to eat - even if you don’t care about sports. Take a look. You’ll discover items on a Brewsky’s menu that are more than a step above standard fare. In fact, there’s truly something for everyone on our menu. While Brewsky’s menu may not bring peace between coaches and game officials, it could very well end the age-old debate between sports bar and gourmet American cuisine. And it’s only at Brewsky’s. -Via Brewsky’s website
