MAGGIE’S L.O.V.E (Local Organic Vegetarian Eatery) We are committed to supporting sustainable agriculture. Eat well. Live well. Be well. Maggie’s passion for food began long before food network made cooking sexy… it began when Julia Child was gettin’ saucy on PBS. After spending time in Arizona working at a natural foods coop and traveling the seasonal food mecca of California, Maggie returned home to start Lincoln’s first and only vegetarian cafe. Her passion for great food is not restricted to the kitchen as she is active in influencing and fighting for sustainable principles and policies that guide the agricultural industry. Maggie is one of the founding members of Slowfood Nebraska and a member of Buy Fresh Buy Local Nebraska. She has also been on the board of directors for Open Harvest Natural Foods Cooperative Grocery for nearly a decade. In November 2007, Maggie co-wrote “Dueling Chefs: A Vegetarian and Meat Lover Debate the Plate,” which is now in its second printing. When she’s not cutting and dicing, she’s sowing and harvesting her own garden. -Via Maggie’s website |
